About this ebook

Billionaire Aiden Sinclair is taking one day at a time as he struggles with nightmares and his PTSD from his last tour of duty in the middle east. When his long-time Gal Friday, Faith Chapman drops a bomb on him that he’d never seen coming, he reacts badly and they part ways, but feels it’s for the best. He’s nothing but screwed up. Then, there’s an ultimatum from his father and Aiden finds himself homeless and penniless. Now he’s relying on Faith’s tender mercy as he’s drawn into her brainchild, Angel Paws, pairing dogs with wounded warriors, something that is close to his heart. Can Aiden allow himself to heal, ignore the paws already on his heart and accept Faith’s love?

Faith has been in love with Aiden from the moment she met him ten years ago when he took a chance on her right out of high school and hired her as his personal assistant. But after he came back from his tour of duty, he wasn’t the same man and Faith has struggled to keep her secret love for him under wraps. But when it slipped out during a close, tender moment with him and he reacted so badly to the declaration, Faith had no choice but to move on. Now Aiden is working with her to turn an inherited, rundown estate into a retreat for warriors mentally scarred from the battlefield and the amazing power of canine love to rescue these heroes. Will Aiden’s involvement help him to find his own path to healing? As they draw closer and closer together, can she even hope that he would ever return the love that still burns strongly in her heart and finally discover what matters most?

I have only read a handful of books by this talented author, and to date, this has been the best story. The story centers around billionaire and retired Marine, Aiden Sinclair , and Faith Chapman, his personal assistant and someone who has been in love with him since she was 18 years old. Two years ago, Aiden returned from his last tour in the Middle East a changed man. A man that now drowns his feelings in a bottle while Faith feels hopeless when she seems unable to help him. Unbeknown to his friends and family, that last tour affected his self-worth, his moral compass and the ability to forgive himself, even though he saved his best friend by carrying him 10 miles. But the story is more that this plot. I am truly grateful that Ms Dawson highlights not only the physical injuries that the dedicated men and women that serve our country have to endure during war, but also the psychological injuries that they suffer . Whether PTSD, or moral injuries. The later challenged because of the conditions of war. We as a nation, need to do a better job of assisting these brave men and women when they return home. In this story, the used of dogs for the vets was presented since these animals give unconditional love . A type of love we all needed, but especially the returning troops. The other important help was professional help. All in all a story that is heartbreaking, and at times you will want to cry for AIden, but it’s also a heartwarming story of hope, compassion, and love. So, thank you, Ms Dawson , for that reminder. I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
