I purchased this trilogy book because obviously you need to finish the story and want to know the ending. To be honest I don't find myself connected with the female character. It's a bit tired when I've come to read at the 'mothers' part. The first and second book is interesting but the last book seems a bit dragging. But somehow I enjoy reading it.

These books needs to have its own trigger warnings: CONTAINS REPEATED SCENES OF RAPE AND SEXUAL SLAVERY *** Spoiler Warnings *** This isn't the deliberate kink like 'Fifty Shades of Grey' (E.L. James). This is violent torture for no reason than the subjugation of the female character. (And everyone else! To join this gang, they have to kill someone from their own family!?!) EDIT: I finished the books (quarantine is boring.) The interesting thing is the plot becomes quite engaging. But the pointless bloodbath gets worse. (He executes ALL of his magicians (TalentCrafters) for not being able to do a task on his timeline?) And yet, in the end all he needed was the bite (and subjugation) of the heroine to become a sweet pussycat. *rolls eyes* Avoid these books (and this author? I assume it's a guy from the action & tone) like the plague.

This is a SERIOUSLY dark series. Yes, it includes scenes of sexual slavery which is not for everyone. That being said, if you have sneaking dark fantasies that you wouldn't want your closest confidant to know, then this is the series for you. Featuring strong male and female protagonists, it allows the reader an opportunity to indulge in salacious scenes and scenarios. Scenes you would have never thought you would enjoy!
