Sebelum sholat Idul Fitri dianjurkan makan dahulu. Sebaliknya ketika Idul Adha, setelah sholat. Karena pada hari raya Idul Adha, kita berqurban. Maka dianjurkan makan setelah sholat Ied, agar kita menyantap hidangan qurban bersama-sama. Rasulullah saw. biasa berangkat shalat ied pada hari Idul Fitri dan beliau makan terlebih dahulu. Sedangkan pada hari Idul Adha, beliau tidak makan lebih dulu kecuali setelah pulang dari shalat ied baru beliau menyantap hasil qurbannya. (HR. Ahmad)
