Pure popcorn reading. All through the series I was thinking " god this is trash" but I couldn't stop reading. It sort of like watching an 80s B grade action movie. And I loved it.

I bought the book n now it only allows me to read first two chapters

Smartly dressed, resourceful and discreet, David Gunn has undertaken assignments in Central America, the Middle East and Russia (among many other places). He is happiest when on the move and tends not to stay in one town or city for very long. He comes from a service family, has an impressive collection of edged weapons and sleeps with a shotgun under his bed. He has written two previous novels featuring Sven Tveskoeg and the Aux: Death's Head and Maximum Offence.
