Terrible and boring. Im actually really lookng forward to the new movie, and I thought this would be a good introduction to this series and universe, but its just really cliched and badly written. I mean, technically speaking, the writing is sound, but its prose is uninteresting, like something Id expect from an 8 year old writing their first Batman story. If an 8 year old did write this, then Id be impressed, but I assume whoever wrote this was probably an adult. Of course, I cant be sure. There is no writer listed, just a publishing company. That points to the book being written by committee. Meaning their is no artistic vision in this, just a couple of staff writers who were given a quota. This books tells me nothing about these characters or their universe other than just that they exist and there will be a movie. Tonally it doesnt even feel the same as the film trailers. ...and before anyone says, "Its for kids!" yeah, well so are the comics, and those can actually be great.

Great, families...go see a movie teaching wh!te children that they are "privileged" (Really? Like who? The wh!te producers/writers/authors/etc.?) and that Batman is an emo nut who needs the patient wisdom of burglar Catwoman and funky police chief Jim Gordon to get him to stop whupping human trash. PS Pattinson is no Bruce Wayne.
