About this ebook

Forty-five was not supposed to find Sabine tending bar on Large Lake and still single. Not when she’d known as a small child that she was destined for something much greater. Unfortunately, the recurring childhood dream that had left her feeling as if she was more than an average human had been just that—a dream. After years of waiting for her life to happen, Sabine realized she was trapped in a dead-end job in a town without an eligible bachelor in sight. Until the day Ace walks into her bar. The impossibly sexy man makes her heart beat faster, and she falls hard for the mysterious guy who claims to be a bodyguard. When she learns he and she are much more than they appear, Sabine is faced with the reality of what her destiny was meant to be, and it’s not the fairy tale she’d imagined.

As a warrior for his werebear clan, Ace is bound to take on whatever mission he’s assigned, but he never expects to be ordered to convince an unsuspecting human she’s his true mate and should become a being she doesn’t believe exists. His reluctance to deal with a human disappears the moment he meets Sabine, and he’s convinced the task will be easy. But he quickly discovers he’s exceedingly wrong. Free will is very much a right that humans can exercise, and for the first time in his career, Ace is afraid he might fail.

Sabine and Ace’s story has fun times, picturesque, vivid scene descriptions, life altering changes, emotional moments, and sizzling passionate romance. Ace, a werebear, is the most powerful warrior in his clan. As a bodyguard, he cannot refuse an order. He’s sent to a small town to bring home to Maine, his forever mate Sabine. When they first meet, a fire of desires burns between them. They face a few hurdles before reaching their happy forever. A well-written shifter read with engaging characters and humor. Ace and Sabine communicate well. As mates, they are perfect for each other. Love how the author makes you feel their happiness. I voluntarily reviewed a pre-release copy.

Ace and Sabine He wondered if he would ever find his true mate. With an assignment and some new scientific help, he didn't have to wonder anymore. He did have to convince her to make the change, accept him as a werebear, and move from her friends, job, and home. A tall order but clan warriors didn't fail! This was his most important assignment yet. She'd had dreams her entire life about something and someone important coming into her life. When Ace showed up at the bar she managed and bartended they were instantly attraction—really attracted.'' Would their dreams come true? Could she accept there were shifters in the world and she could become one? Some fun characters and a good friend or two, steam, and a love story in the ongoing Werebear world Ms. Vaughn has created. A good beginning to the series to come.
