Detectives Dee Quarter and Lisa Swanson are called to solve a murder, and they meet Jake Jenson, who happens to be in a wheelchair. Jake is instantly attracted to Lisa, but her past, as well as the fact he knew the victim is keeping her at arms length. Truthfully, both of the main characters had to grow on me, because it seemed like they were not a really good match for each other. And Jake's character was just so irritating and annoying. It did end up being an enjoyable read. I received a copy of the book via booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

The writing style was not as enjoyable as it could have been. The storyline progression was a bit choppy and disjointed. The main character, Lisa, was not likeable at all. I don't think I'd read another book from this author.
