Interesting story development. Decent plot for a fantasy, fictional romance. But I'm used to a little more heat so to speak in these types of books. The romantic scene was lukewarm at best. Which was odd because the rest of the book had alot of creativity and description. Lss i didn't hate it. I finished it. I won't read any of the others in the series.

It's an ok book. Certainly not like her other books. There's not much passion, not much fun sexy scenes in this book, not much fun, period. By the time I did get to some, I was just so weary of the book I didn't really care anymore. I understand the psyche of victims like Miriam and I think the author presented her fairly accurately. I just have no patience for people who act as though they have no choices in life. There are ALWAYS choices. They may not be EASY choices, but there ARE choices. ALWAYS.

It was hard for me to get into it in the beginning but totally picks up at chapter two. A couple of repetitive descriptions regarding Miriams hesitations but that is close to what an abuse victim tends to feel. Interesting read*
