So far while reading the sample (waiting for the book in the mail) it is really good and thoughtful. These passages are well written but one thing I take issue with is on january 10 he mentions suicide as an example for mixing up casual hope and precious hope. Ie "if someone killed themselves because a loved one chose someone else and not them." I take issue with this because suicide and mental health is so much deeper and complex than someone killing themselves "because a lover chose another" that in itself is the very tip of the iceberg. The author simplifies this very serious illness which is dangerous and perpetuates the stigma of mental health. Besides that, from what I have read so far it is genuine and thoughtful and speaks to my heart.
