Jeepers Creepers is the fourth book in the Got That Swing series. This is a short but sweet story about Karen and her foray into the world of swing dancing. Karen is a very likable character and the storyline brings the reader to a wonderful dance class where anything can happen, from falling into pool tables to falling in love. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another Fun Installment I have read all but Book 2 of this series, and I find it such a delight! You can tell that the author really knows her stuff about swing dancing. This is a super short book, somewhere between a short story and a novella, and the author does a great job of keeping it tightly focused on the heroine, swing dancing, and her choice between two men. This is a fun and sometimes funny book; the title is really apt, too (and definitely humorous after you read the story). You need not read other books in the series to appreciate the romance and the humor in this one. It's kind of funny, but before this year, I hadn't read any Australian or New Zealander authors. But thanks to Booksprout, my favorite book review site, I have enjoyed books by several southern hemisphere authors, including this one, Mel A. Rowe, Kate O’Keeffe, and others. Like the others in this series, this book definitely oozed all things Australian in the descriptions, vocabulary, and dialogue phrasing, making the read a little armchair travel as well. This entire series is a lot of fun, and I recommend it as well as this particular super quick read. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Dragged here after repeated invitations by her good friend, Tracy, Karen is taking her first swing dance lesson, trying not to kick anyone or make a mess of things. Lowan is her second partner, and it took quite a few tries before they finally got in synch with their steps – only to find they were not in time with the music! But by then, they were both smiling and feeling successful until Karen collided with a pool table! Lowan gallantly switched positions with her, then collided with the same pool table, just as she had! Unable to hold back her giggle, they decided they both needed more practice. Her final partner in the lesson was an older man, but he was a wonderful dancer and she had a good time. She loves the dancing and the music and was grateful that Tracy hadn’t stopped pestering her to take the lessons. Sarah danced with Karen in the Jam Circle, then passed her hand to Ben, whom Karen had been admiring from her table earlier. He was a good dancer and promised to dance with her the next week if she came back. Now all she needs is to find the courage to ask one of her two favorite partners out on a date! This was such a good book, the author’s style of writing quickly pulling the reader into the story. The story line moves at a steady pace that keeps all eyes on what the characters are doing. The descriptions of both characters and their environment make it all real and exciting. Grab your copy and see how things turn out for Karen, both on and off the dance floor!
