Talk about a story that is hard hitting with the ability to make you laugh. I love the way that St. Claire mixes comedy with romance. Everything is so real yet also has a very light-hearted feel to it. The descriptions bring this entire world to life, allowing readers to experience the tale to the fullest. The characters were solid and easy to get to know. I really enjoyed the way that the relationship built between them. The maturity level of the characters was also an added bonus. Their life experiences played into their every day events allowing me to get to know them on every level. And St. Claire didn’t stop her character development with the main characters. Readers get up close and personal with the supporting cast, giving a well-rounded feel to the tale. This was a fantastic addition to St. Claire’s Barefoot Bay universe. The tale was fun and emotional and very romantic. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I fell in love with the idea of the Barefoot Bay Timeless series when I first heard Roxanne St. Claire was writing about more mature heroes. I loved Barefoot at Sunset, the first book in the series and was so happy to see Ken and Bethany would be the couple in Barefoot at Moonrise. Ken and Bethany have a history, as in they dated in high school and broke up after Ken’s dad died on one of Bethany’s dad’s jobsites. After trying to avoid Ken during the entire time at their class reunion, they hooked up on the last night and changed both their lives forever. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Ken and Beth was every bit as strong 25 years after they dated as it was when they were in high school. Yes there were some issues from their past that made a future a challenge, but I loved that Ken and Beth both seemed to be ready to work to move forward. I loved that Beth was such an independent woman and had started her own business of renovating homes. Seriously loved how strong she was and honestly believe she could do anything she set her mind to doing. I also loved that when push came to shove, and she knew she needed help, she didn’t hesitate to call Ken. I had mad love for Ken and loved that he has known he wanted to be a firefighter since he was there when his dad died. I loved he has a natural instinct to take care of others, and loved how hard he was willing to work to have a relationship with Beth. I did dislike Beth keeping a pretty big secret from Ken about something from the past. I felt like it really was important she share the information as soon as she saw it. I also didn’t love that Ken still let his anger at Beth’s dad pretty much rule his world. I did see major growth with both characters as their story progressed, but worried these issues could be deal breakers in the end. I honestly loved Barefoot at Moonrise pretty much from start to finish. I felt like the growth of Beth and Ken as both individuals and as a couple made this story so very strong. I’m absolutely in love with the entire Barefoot Bay Timeless series and can’t wait to read Law’s story in Barefoot at Midnight when it is released later this year. Review copy provided by publisher

I am really enjoying Roxanne St. Claire's Barefoot Bay Timeless books, especially since the heroes are closer to my age! This book is firefighter Ken Cavanaugh's story. You know when the story is about firemen it's going to be hot! Ken has loved Beth Endicott since they were in high school. It's been 25 years since Ken broke up with Beth when Ken's dad died at Beth's dad worksite, and Ken has held Ray Endicott responsible since. When Ken sees Beth's name as a volunteer for their upcoming high school reunion, he decides to also volunteer in hopes of talking with Beth. When Ken and Beth finally get some alone time things explode and it's like they are back in high school again. Ken wants to continue a relationship, but Beth, tired of men controlling her life, does not want to. After parting ways after their night together, a special surprise brings them back together. This love story was wonderful. I just adored Ken. He is the type of guy every girl wants. I really enjoyed all the other firefighters, especially Pookie...she was a hoot! I really loved the path Ken and Beth had to travel. It was hard to overcome the past in order for them to be together. The part with Ray and Josie Endicott was a great twist too! And the ending was just perfect! Another great story from Roxanne St. Claire.....I can't wait for Law's story next!
