About this ebook

Life is full of awkward moments and everyday madness—and this book celebrates all of it with a generous dose of humour. Most of the stories are inspired by the wonderfully unpredictable world we live in. From growing-up mischief to chaotic celebrations and wildly mismatched personalities, these tales turn ordinary events into laugh-out-loud adventures.

Science says laughter releases endorphins and keeps the heart happy. This book doesn’t promise medical miracles, but it does promise a hearty chuckle on every page. The Laughter Riot is a cheerful reminder that life is too short to be taken seriously all the time. Pick it up when you need a break, a smile, or a reason to laugh at the absurdity of it all—no prescription required.

About the author

Dr. Priyamita Ghosh has a habit of turning everyday chaos into comedy—much to the amusement (and occasional embarrassment) of her friends, colleagues, and family, who often inspire her stories without knowing it. Although her tales are fictional, the humour is very real, drawn from her sharp observations of growing up, social quirks, and cultural eccentricities.

Born and raised in Kolkata, she is a doctor by profession and a storyteller by instinct. She graduated from R. G. Kar Medical College in 2010, but insists that laughter is just as essential as medicine. Her characters are dramatic, her plots slightly exaggerated, and her humour delightfully contagious—so she recommends reading her stories with an open mind and a generous pinch of salt.
