I absolutely loved this book. Although I am a 46 year old man, I love to read horror fiction and ghost stories even though most titles seem to be categorized as teen fiction or young adult. If I find a book that will hold my interest, I'll buy it regardless of its targeted audience. Anyway, I'm nearly halfway through this one, and I will definitely read the second one after as well as some of her other books.

Gory in parts, wistful and creepy in other parts. Cousins who are there for each other, a father and mother who try. Awful people meet awful ends. This book stands alone, though now that I know it's part one of a "duology" I want to read the next one.
