This is a great book written about color photography before any commercially or practically successful methods had yet been realized.
It is a fascinating account that will be of interest to those experimenting with Lippmann photography (interference heliochromy), which is doable today thru the use of photographic plates designed for holography (Slavich).
Anyone who is interested in historical accounts of color-photography and it's theory will find this book well written & interesting. It provides a comprehensive overview of key researchers in the field.
For those interested & familiar with alternative photographic processes, the discussions of chemistry will be enlightening & perhaps inspiring, even in the 21st century.
In the book, "heliochrome" means color photograph.
