About this ebook

In a world where magic is tightly controlled, the most powerful man in history must choose between his kingdom and his son in the first book in the epic NYT bestselling Lightbringer series.

Guile is the Prism. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. Yet Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live.

When Guile discovers he has a son, born in a far kingdom after the war that put him in power, he must decide how much he's willing to pay to protect a secret that could tear his world apart.
If you loved the action and adventure of the Night Angel trilogy, you will devour this incredible epic fantasy series by Brent Weeks.

A well planned plot with enough twists and hooks to keep a reader enthralled. A well rounded cast of characters set in a world a reader can imagine in vivid detail. Unlike a lot of fantasy novels a reader can easily believe this book is set in an actual world with history to it beyond what is described by the author. A new take on fantasy that will leave readers begging for more.

An interesting world. The book's many plot lines build up nicely and result in one or two great moments during the last few chapters. Author leaves plenty of loose ends, though.

100 pages in and it's hard to imagine how things will get better. But Brent makes you watch as the characters grow and mold into something greater. And the second book? Pppffttt, couldn't put it down!
