Two women. Two very different lives. One unexpected friendship.

While Tess has spent a lifetime hiding and shutting her heart to love.

But if they can open up to one another, these two women may just learn that sometimes letting go is the first step to moving forward and new friendships can come from the most unlikely situations.

Such a perfect read .. it has a bit of everything, all wrapped up in beautiful writing. Amanda King is very much one of the 'ladies who lunch'. She lives in a beautiful Georgian home at one of the prime Dublin addresses, bought by her husband Richard and refurbished to her high standards. Into this perfect life comes Tessa Cuffe, the lady who lives in their basement and who they can't get rid off. These two women are a world apart .. or are they? I read this book some time ago when the ebook version was published, but it's a memorable read. Following Faith's second novel 'My Husband's Wives' I fell in love with this author's writing and haven't missed a single novel since. This is beautifully crafted, encompassing both past and present along with angst, secrets, lies and so much more. Told by alternating chapters of each of the two main characters, the writing flows wonderfully and it kept my attention throughout - in fact, it's fair to say that this one swallowed me up, heart and soul I never fail to be stunned at the skill of certain authors to produce fabulously different stories from their imaginations, and Faith Hogan is one of the best I've come across. Not only is this a terrific read, but it also makes the perfect gift. Although very different in style, I find myself reminded of Maeve Binchy's novels and what marvellous feelings they evoked; I never thought I would find a similar type of read, but this author's work fits the bill every time. However, there is no doubt that these are completely original works which shine brightly in the world of women's fiction. An absolute favourite author of mine and this is a book I highly recommend. Five dancing, golden, sparkling stars!
