The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks is truly an amazing experience of internal conflict and raw emotion. Sparks gives each of his characters a personality that the reader can attach to and a point of view for each throughout the book to create an overall effect of understanding. This “effect” takes the reader deeper into what the character is thinking and allows Sparks's story to be told on another level. The time period is never mentioned in the book, but one infers that it takes place in a modern setting. The setting is mainly focused on a little town in Georgia. There are countless dramatic scenes in The Last Song; some of them include family feuds, shaky friendships, and off and on trust in relationships. Rest assured that with every traumatizing word, Sparks is able to capture the reader’s attention again and again, and while holding that attention, pounding twists and turns around every page. As one progresses through the book, an air becomes present - an atmosphere - of self discovery, realizations of whom should the reader be weary of, and bits and pieces of romance. The romance aspect in the book is gradual and sweet. It is not forced down the reader’s throat in a hot and passionate make out scene every two words. Sparks's point throughout the book isn’t about being a teen with self-centered problems but about connecting with the outside world, looking at life in a different way, and growing into a better person. The main character goes through a dramatic, yet gradual personality change towards the ending. The author does an excellent job of portraying a rebellious teen’s subsiding rage and transforming into something bigger or a lost soul finding their true self. An example of this can be found in the words between the lines, “Only Steve, a man he’d grown to admire, a man he’d learned from, and the kind of man he himself hoped to be as he grew older.” The most interesting part of The Last Song were the different points of view. Every chapter was another character seeing or feeling what was happening in the book. If the reader wondered after a shocking event, their questions would be answered almost immediately after a simple flip of a page. Though short lived, one of the character's maniacal way of thinking brought up turmoil for others in their way; however, the motivations were clear as the story progressed from their eyes. “Screw it. Screw her. It was time to party.” As for the others, they were a tad more relaxed but it certainly helped being able to step into a different pair of shoes for a while, it was never the same story twice. No matter what people may say about this book, I was quickly immersed in mixed emotions, the emotions of the characters and myself. I was overwhelmed by the audacity of someone being able to bring me to tears more than once through sweet words, that were almost sing song, echoing into the very depths of my soul and connecting myself with almost every inch of paper. “I never stopped loving you Ronnie. And I never stopped thinking about you. Even if summers do come to an end.” She smiled, knowing he was telling the truth. “I love you, too, Will Blakelee,” she whispered, leaning in to kiss him again. It makes a person realize how wrong everything can go in life but there are ways to set it straight if they take a breather and sort it out in their head, eventually everything will make sense again. There is a lot of self discovery that can be done in The Last Song. “Life, he realized, was much like a song.” The book was superb and immensely enjoyable to read. Without a doubt any one of Nicholas Sparks’s books would be just as fun and gasp worthy as this one. I would recommend The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks to anyone who enjoys sitting on the edge of their seat, falling over from exasperation, and crying over touching moments. “I finished your song,” she said. “Our last song. And I want to play it for you.”

The Last Song. This is such a good book. I loved it, it was one of my favorite books from Nicholas Sparks. He did such a great job it really shows how teen life can be for us teens and how we can overcome even the most diffucult of things. Once you start reading you don't want to put it down you want to see what happens to Ronnie, Will, Her Dad, Ect. Its a love story based on this girl named Veronica (Ronnie) who goes to her dads house for the summer. She doesn't really want to be there because of her dad but she puts up with him meets this boy named will they fall in love and she starts to realize that her dad really isn't so bad. She has had things rough and when things finally start to get good again in her life she finds out that her dad has cancer and has only a little time left. It's an incredible story and I strongly encourage you to read it. It's funny, intense, cute, and a real tear jerker. Everything I love in a book. Read it and trust me you will not regret it.

I am only 11 years old an used to be a big fan of Miley Cyrus. She got really weird but anyway i still went to see the movie. I ended up almost crying and wanted so badly to read the book. When i got the book for christmas last year i was in love with the book!!!! I never say this like my oth is "the movies will ALWAYS be better then the books!!!" But With this book i was so surprised it was probably one of the best books i have ever read it is so inspriing because i went through something like that with my dad. It was 1000000000000000000000000000000000 times beter then the movie and I read it in a month which i didn't think was bad a all. Everyone who fell in love with the movie "The Notebook" "A Walk To Remeber" "True Believer" and "The Lucky One" this is the book for you!!!!!!!!!! I ended up doing a book report on the book at i got a A+++++++++++!!
