I just started reading this book, and have found it to be intriguing - my uncle (who has now passed) Ed is one of the people the book focuses on, and he was the soldier on the front of the book in its first publication.
I never met my uncle, and this is as close as I will get to ever talking to him. Its amazing to hear his opinion and his emotions about the Vietnam war, alongside other veterans. The book is thesis-like but still very raw on the emotions of soldiers. It allows you to see the war through their eyes. Can't wait to keep reading it.

This book gives one more knowledge and understanding of the Vietnam War then any other. From each excerpt you can begin to understand a little bit more and by the end of the book you will probably see war and even the military differently. I couldn’t believe the amount of wisdom gained from the pages of this book. It is both interesting and educational.
