I highly agree with Wen Lei's review (whom I don't know personally). The writing style is incredibly boring. As a result, unlocking the book's knowledge exacts a very high toll in reader engagement. That's very unfortunate because the book attempts to impart very valuable and practical lessons pertaining to software testing. As much as I learned from the book and considering its relatively small size, I don't think I would've entirely read it had it not been a mandatory reading requirement. As a side note: there were some practices and suggestions regarding software requirements gathering that seemed a bit hokey and dated.

Rick D. Craig, an experienced test manager and consultant at Software Quality Engineering, has spoken at testing conferences every year since 1985. Rick has helped hundreds of companies throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas improve their testing practices. Rick is the former American editor of Software Quality Management magazine, an active member of Mensa of America, and a Colonel in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
