The world is incredibly immersive. Maybe you can argue that's easy to do for modern urban fiction, and maybe you're right. Especially since there's no 'magic', just shapeshifting. But man, there is nothing that makes you question the world in the book. Besides all that, the unhinged, over-the-top characters are so fun. They are ridiculous and bring me so much joy!
