Life is centered around one day in the life of retiring head football coach Christoph Christopher Saur and his family. On this day his children finally seek answers that they have been denied since their childhood; what happened to dads family? Christopher reluctantly agrees to tell his story during the breaks of the days festivities. Life shows how football is more than just a two hour a day commitment, how the game affects more than just players, how lessons learned while playing extend beyond the gridiron, and how a simple game is a place of sanctuary from daily troubles of home or those of high school.

About the author

D.W. Sower was born and raised in Salem, Virginia. He attended Emory and Henry College for undergraduate and then East Tennessee State University for graduate school. After grad school he published his first book entitled Road To Glory: The Willis White Era of the Salem High School Football Program. Shortly after he enrolled at Roanoke College where he received his teaching certification and is currently teaching middle school history. While at Emory and Henry he began his coaching career at Salem and is now entering his eleventh year as a coach.
