Haunted by the King of Death is book 11 in the Eternal Mates series and can be read by itself. There are a great many faces in this book from earlier in the series, but even more from the London Vampires series, so if you have read those other books, this will be a genuine treat. The book is written in third person omniscient from both leads' (alternating) point of view. This book features a vampire male lead, but more interestingly, a phantom female lead. Phantoms are something of a rarity in this world (and in the genre in general), so I was excited to get to see one in more than passing. I have to say, Isla didn't disappoint: she was definitely a killer character (pun intended). Grave we have already seen to be ruthless, deadly, more than a little crazy, and something of a woman hater. This book confirms for us that Isla is the reason behind that (not surprising: it's always a woman isn't it?) and is generally the story of how they both learn to forgive, move on, and find a way to love again. Both characters are really well done. I felt they were fleshed out and well portrayed in this. The family touches for Grave were wholly unexpected, but absolutely wonderful and touching in a whole different way than he and Isla's romance. On her side...well I my heart just breaks. That poor girl. Anyhow, they have a lot of trials on their road home, but have faith! Our leads always come out in the end. If you like your vampires with a touch of madness, you women with deadly wiles, your paranormal romance filled with action, magic, and steamy love scenes, then this is one you shouldn't miss!

I have enjoyed every book thus far in this series and wow what a story this one is. Best one yet hands down. We met this couple in a previous book but now they get their own. Isla did something she knew would eventually have dire consequences and now she has lost so much because of it. Grave is one mean vampire but he is now also so much more although he does not want it. A Demon Prince seeking vengeance also is stalking him. Now Grave and his entire family what is left of them are all in danger add to that his mate whom he does not want. Can this couple fight together or will they fade with everyone else? Loved this book. It is well written, we get tons of action, and a whole lot of hot. I was gifted this book for my honest review.

I loved the entire series. All of the stories are beautifully written and so easy to visualize.. Awesome and five star worthy. I hate that this series is over, oh well- on to the next!
