Kate is on the run when she lands at Silver Springs Ranch in Colorado. She is fleeing a violent criminal with a vendetta against her. She has had several aliases in the last year, and is constantly looking over her shoulder. Her new job as a maid comes with room and board, and the ranch seems like a good place to lay low. The people there seem like good people. When Duncan bumps into her, she appreciates the view, but she doesn't do friendships. She doesn't get involved. She can't afford to get attached. There is something about Duncan, though, that she cannot help trusting him. He teaches her self-defense and camping in the open. This story is the fifth book in the Silver Springs Ranch series and is full of suspense. The relationship that develops between Duncan and Kate comes as a surprise to both of them. The book is, as is Anya Summers' trademark, liberally sprinkled with some hot scenes including some BDSM. Kate is welcomed into the Silver Springs Ranch family with a really well- written HEA. This one is well worth the one click, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another fantastic read in the Silver Springs Ranch Series with this being Duncan and Eve's story. Each story has the ability to standalone, but they do have over lapping characters. Duncan was a Navy SEAL for twelve years until an injury caused him to be honorablly discharged. Kate (Eve) owned a bank in Georgia that been robbed, which she helped put the robbers in jail. One died in prison and the other one came after her as soon as he got out. He attacked her in her home, but she managed to get away. The police could do nothing, so she went on the run changing her name every time he caught up with her. After a year she ended up at Silver Springs Ranch working as a maid and started putting down roots. She kept running into Duncan, and they both tried to exnore the other one, but it did not work. They could not stop thinking about each other. They were both strong independent characters that steadily developed an undeniable attraction for each other. You will not want to

A woman on the run. Awesome book. Duncan, a navy SEAL has a great life. He's happy and the hardest thing he has to deal with is avoiding the women that chase him. Which after years as a SEAL makes him think life is finally cushy. Then he meets Eve. Eve is a woman on the run. She's the new maid and while she's beautiful, Duncan avoids her as much as possible. This story is loaded with secrets and the bad guys are closing in. Duncan will have to man up again to save Eve. Loads of action, suspense and two likable characters that belong together, if they can only survive Eve's dark and dangerous past. Duncan will have to call on all his skills to save her. Fast paced, exciting read. I have not read the other books in the series and didn't feel like I was missing anything so this does work as a standalone.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Anya grew up listening to Cardinals baseball and reading anything she could get her hands on. She remembers her mother saying if only she would read the right type of books instead binging her way through the romance aisles at the bookstore, she’d have been a doctor.
