Die inflationäre Verwendung des Begriffs „Identität“ führt zu einer Verwischung des Sprachgebrauchs und einer fortschreitenden Metaphorisierung des Terminus. Diese Sinnkonstruktion – mit ihrem die Komplexität reduzierenden Charakter und ihrer gesellschaftlichen Aussagekraft – wird im vorliegenden Band in einer Reihe philologischer Einblicke von Sprach-, Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaftlern aus disziplin- und länderübergreifender Perspektive analysiert.
