This is my first time reading this book. I have read many of Charles Dickens books but this is an exceptionary piece of work. Their is no wonder why this is one of the classics that will always be cherished by people of this world. Although, I may say that this book, does call for a specific audience. An audience of a intelligent and educated mind.

It's a difficult book to get into, and becomes a difficult book to put down. The horror of the French Revolution certainly comes alive in this book, and it manages to show the humanity, and inhumanity, of both the oppressors, and the oppressed. I now understand "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. "

This is the second time I've read this book. Reading it for leisure (as opposed to being forced to in high school) made it so much better. It moves a bit slowly at first, but the way that Dickens paints a picture for the reader is mesmerizing. The ending is truly moving.
