Ratings and reviews

The beginning has my attention and the characterization of most character I feel match the games. Although a couple of them were a bit spotty for me. Story itself tells the game at a faster pace. Something I don't necessarily enjoy. Even taking liberties off of some of them and by the end it's pretty an ending I'm starting to become familiar with. If it were up to me, I'd like to take what happened in the games and try to accurately detail what happened, especially the number of infected types. But for casual zombie readers it's okay if you don't know about Dead Island like most players. Take it as you will.

This seems a very detailed book that gives more back story and storyline to the original version of the game. I haven't bought it yet, but believe you me, I'm going to.

I have played both games and loved them both, and this book really clears up how the infection started in Banoi and has much suspense and action in it, although it is a bit open ended, but this author is working on a sequel so I can't wait until that comes out too!!

Mark Morris became a full-time writer in 1988 on the Enterprise Allowance Scheme. A year later his first novel, Toady, was published. He has since published a further sixteen novels, including Stitch, The Immaculate, The Secret of Anatomy, Fiddleback, The Deluge and four books in the Doctor Who series, including the bestselling Ghosts of India, and the Torchwood novel, Bay of the Dead.
His short stories, novellas, articles and reviews have appeared in numerous anthologies and magazines, and he is editor of the acclaimed Cinema Macabre, a book of horror movie essays by genre luminaries, for which he won the 2007 British Fantasy Award. He lives in Tadcaster, N. Yorks.
