About this ebook

The author of the bestselling Vietnam War memoir Marine Sniper continues the incredible true story of Sergeant Carlos Hathcock...

In the United States Marine Corps, the most dangerous job in combat is that of the sniper. With no backup and little communication with the outside world, these men disappeared for weeks on end in the wilderness with nothing but intellect and iron will to protect them—as they would watch, wait, and finally strike.

But of all of the snipers who ever hunted human prey, one man stands above and beyond as one of the most legendary fighting men ever to pull a trigger. That man was Carlos Hathcock.

In Marine Sniper, the true-life missions of United States Marine Corps sniper Carlos Hathcock were revealed in explosive detail. Now, the incredible story of a remarkable Marine continues—with harrowing, never-before-published accounts of courage and perseverance. These are the powerful stories of a man who rose to greatness not for personal gain or glory, but for duty and honor. A rare inside look at the U.S. Marine’s most challenging missions—and the one man who made military history.

First read "Marine Sniper" then read this book. Marine Sniper hours more in depth with Carlos's mindset during his missions and feeling like you're right beside him. Silent Warrior discusses more as a third person watching both Carlos and NVA's perspective. Which is why this book is classified under the "fiction" category, but is incredibly accurate to Carlos's side. the last few chapters the writer discusses how friendship and experiences with Carlos from the mood 80's to the 90's leading to his death. They are very positive chapters reminiscing on their time together, where Silent Warrior discussed more of Carlos's battle over his but recovery, depression and MS. I barely read books... like 1 book every 5 years, and I read both Marine Sniper and Silent Warrior in a month.

My Father & Uncles served in the Vietnam War. They are all my Heroes. The citizens of the USA need to do more to Honor our Korean & Vietnam Veterans. These Men & Women did not choose the war or had input on how it should be fought. They were young people who answered the call for their Country. Win or Lose, it should not matter. People need to wake up and honor their Veterans. NO MATTER WHAT. GOD BLESS THE USA AND THANK YOU TO ANYONE WHO HAS SERVED.
