While Karl Barth is one of the most significant theologians of the twentieth century, his contribution to ethics is less well known and subject to controversy among interpreters. About the author

Alexander Massmann is a postdoctoral researcher in theology at Heidelberg University in Germany. He studied at Heidelberg University, Duke University, and Princeton Theological Seminary and was a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK. He was awarded the Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise in 2013.
