A return to the narrative style of Flemming: attention to detail of person, place, clothing, food, etc. This Bond is slightly less cruel than the original, but the update seems to work. A welcome departure from the formula of Gardener.

... it didn't have as much action as I'm used to, and Bond didn't get with as many women (which is totally fine and more realistic actually) BUT I still really enjoyed this book. I thought it was written very well. The glossary was a nice touch as well. I'm really looking forward to the next book.
