About this ebook

Dragons and magic await.

Dragons of Dawn is an epic saga that contains three novels that are prequels to the World of Godsland fantasy series. Each is a great place to start the series or to continue the adventure.

Dragon Airways - Lured by ancient magic, a boy with special needs and unusual talents becomes valuable to both sides of the war. Fleeing those sent to capture him, he and his sister board Dragon Airways.

Ascension - Having reached the age of decision, Gwendolin Ahlgren finds she has no viable choices, or at least none her family will agree to let her pursue. She's resigned that her life will be anything but what she'd hoped it would be. When a traveling circus passes through her village, a fortune teller predicts a mysterious destiny Gwen could never have imagined and roundly rejects. Against her will, she leaves home for life in a monastery and meets the love of her life. Life and love aren't always what one expects, and neither is destiny. Gwen will have to stretch beyond herself and understand the true meaning of love if she's to fulfill her destiny through a task that only an unimaginable ascension can accomplish.

Onin - Joining the King’s Guard is something every kid growing up in the Midlands dreams about. Onin never dared imagine such a life for himself, even after distinguishing himself in battle. When offered a rare opportunity to train within the Heights, he must balance honor, duty, and family. Haunted by persistent dreams and lured by the possibility of becoming a member of the guard, Onin leaves his home and the last vestiges of childhood behind. Follow the story of one of the most beloved characters from the World of Godsland fantasy series in the first installment of the Protector trilogy.

I really enjoyed all 3 books. the second book ended a little abruptly but kept me wanting to read more. I would love to continue with the series. The only thing that had me confused was book one there were only a hand full of dragons, book 2 dragons were unheard of even myths, and book 3 there were dragon breeders so this made the timeline a little unclean. If someone could assist with clearing that up for me that would be wonderful.

The first book of the trilogy was horrible! Made no sense as a prequel to the Godsland series whatsoever! Second was good if a bit sluggish. The third was building into a really good story that ended just as it was getting good.

About the author

As a teen, Brian Rathbone had a hunger for Young Adult Fantasy and Epic Fantasy that could not be satisfied. He would hide out in his secret place for weeks and perch on his choice of straw bale thrones with plenty of books to read. It was a spiritual and sometimes emotional journey filled with thieves, wizards and dragons.

Jack McCarthy was born and raised in Salem, NJ and is a long-time resident of Cleveland, OH. His lifelong path to writing has included: dishwasher, video store clerk, taekwondo instructor, factory assembly worker, telemarketer, casual letter carrier, office temp, door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman, phone psychic, cashier, gas station manager, flight attendant and software engineer. This combined skill set could belong only to one destined to write fantasy novels.
Morgen Rich grew up in the southwestern U.S., where the sky reminds humans just how small they really are. Staring up at a sky stretching into forever prompted her to wonder what was there, and thus, her writing career in speculative fiction began. She lives mostly in Pennsylvania with her husband and two Great Pyrenees, Bianca and Tahoe. On occasion, she lives in Lincoln, England.

Morgen will be first to say that no author is an island. Fantasy by female authors Marion Zimmer Bradley, Octavia Butler, and Anne McCaffrey has had a strong influence on Morgen's imagination and writing. She'll tell you that The Mists of Avalon gave her a different perspective on Celtic medieval fantasy, that the Xenogenesis Trilogy showed her how complex human beings can be, and that The Dragonriders of Pern destroyed every notion she had of genre boundaries. She promotes the work of women writers of science fiction, fantasy, and horror through her membership in the non-profit organization Broad Universe.

Her current project is a speculative fiction series. It begins with Incorrigible: Secrets Past & Present, which was initially released as a serial novel. Incorrigible is also Book One of The Staves of Warrant, an epic science fantasy trilogy set in the Shifting Worlds universe. Books Two (Discordant: Kin Foreign & Familiar) and Three (Seditious: Promises Broken & Bound).
