Bush takes no blame for his reckless actions even though the proof lies before him and everyone else in the world with regards to two wars and a blown economy. States are spending double what they bring in. 12 Trillion in debt. Millions per day spent in 2 worthless wars. "Terrorist" torture framework. ...the list goes on. All the while Bush is more upset with Kanye West? He learned nothing and this book reflects it.

As a fan of President Bush (43) I liked to read his take on events during his presidency. The book gives a good perspective from his point of view and doesn't gloss over the negatives. In fact, as a member of the flawed human race myself, I am more impressed by the fact that Mr. Bush gives the reader a feel for why he did (whatever he did) and how he reacted to the reactions he got from his decisions. Being surprised by a negative reaction (press and opposition) is the human thing to do and Mr. Bush comes across as not embarrassed by the fact that he is human. Did a pretty good job for a human being in an impossible position... It's hard to keep anybody happy when you are the president (just look at the current office-holder...) I enjoyed it and would recommend it to even my friends on the opposite side of the isle even though they would never admit to having any interest.

Decision Points offers good personal insights from the President on important crises he faced. The writing, enjoyably and as expected, was not verbose and dense. Rather, as I read it, I could hear President Bush in his own voice. If you are a big W fan, you will love it. I had a difficult time reading the chapter on 9-11, it was very emotional. He was candid and gracious when he needed to be, and had quite a few comical lines. It's worth the read to get a sense of what made W the person he was.
