This pocketsized paperback is one of the twentyfour titles published for 2017 Hong Kong International Poetry Nights. The theme of IPHHK2017 is "Ancient Enmity". IPNHK is one of the most influential international poetry events in Asia. From 22–26 November 2017, over 20 invited poets from various countries will be in Hong Kong to read their works based on the theme "ncient Enmity". Included in the anthology and box set, these unique works are presented with Chinese and English translations in bilingual or trilingual formats.

About the author

Chen Xianfa was born in 1967 in Anhui and graduated from Fudan University in Shanghai in 1989. He has published several books of poetry, including Death in Springtime (1994), A Past Life (2005), The Heart of Writing Steles (2011), The Problem of Raising Cranes (Taiwan, 2015), and Crevice and Insight (2016), as well as the novel Soul-Stealing Opera (2006) and the essays Notes on Black Pond Dam (2014). He's received well over a dozen domestic poetry prizes, including the October Poetry Prize, the 2008 Poet of the Year Award, and Fudan University's Award for Literary Achievement. His works have been translated into English, French, Russian, Spanish, and Greek.
