About the author
Autor und Zeichner Masashi Kishimoto wurde 1974 in der ländlichen Provinz Okayama geboren. Nachdem er einige Zeit die Kunsthochschule besuchte, gewann er mit seinem Manga "Karakuri" (dt. "Mechanismus") den "Hot Step Award" für neue Mangazeichner. Die erste Version von Naruto (1997) war eine Geschichte über einen Fuchsdämon; die endgültige Fassung erschien 1999 erstmals im Weekly Shonen Jump Magazin und ist mittlerweile der populärste Ninja-Manga auf der ganzen Welt.
