This is my first Kendall Ryan book, and it certainly won't be my last. This was such a sweet, second chance romance set in the world of professional hockey. Eden has just inherited a hockey team from her late grandfather, and Holt comes on to help with security for her. They both had met previously while in college and have a hot attraction for each other. There were definitely complications, with both being hesitant to jump into anything due to previous experiences and things they had lived through, but their chemistry is just too strong to ignore. I loved how we got both POVs in this sweet romance, and enjoyed seeing them build a relationship together, despite denying that's what they were doing. Their relationship had a bit of the forbidden to it as Eden feels she can't get involved with someone she works with, and Holt fears their backgrounds are just too different. Highly recommend this if you love either sports romance, second chance romance, or a sweet romance. Thank you to Booksprout for the advanced reader copy. I voluntarily left an honest review.

I'm not sure how I feel about this story. It was entertaining and there are many enjoyable parts. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. Holt deserved to be someone's number one choice. That is my issue with this story. Eden wanted Alex the whole time. She wanted to be with Alex in college but since he was busy getting a bj from someone else, she settles for having sex with Holt. She then leaves Holt and leaves him a note saying it was a mistake and goes back to chasing after Alex. They are together for years. Alex leaves her so she settles for Holt. I felt like if Alex said babe, I want to give it another try, she would have dropped Holt and gone running back to Alex. Personally, I would rather be alone than be someone's second choice or to have someone settle for being with me when they'd rather be with someone else. I was glad that Holt got his happy ever after. This is book one in The Looking to Score Series as it is Holt and Eden's story and omg what an amazing start to a new series. Holt and Eden had a one night stand years ago but now fast forward and they meet again but they both have baggage but the connection and between them is so hot and instant that you can feel it sizzling of the pages and it can't be denied by either of them but will they give into it or keep there distance from each other as much as possible. Omg I couldn't put this book down and I also couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what would happen next between them and you are not disappointed by the outcome. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the first page and it was so addictive which is just what you would expect by Kendall Ryan who is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention.
