I love this author's other books, but this story didn't work for me. It wasn't able to keep my focus. There isn't anything in particular that stands out as something I didn't like. It's just that I couldn't get into it so it felt more like work than fun to read. Most people seemed to really like it. Maybe the timing was a factor for me because of already being burned out with this current election.

It feels this book was lazily written. I've read better books between the secret service and the presidents daughter. There needs to be more resistance between the lead characters knowing that their love is forbidden and will cause disaster at the hands of their competitors. This book is like luke warm dishwater. It's a comfortable read but it won't get your blood pumping.

This book completely hooked me from the first page. I feverishly read through it & nearly cried when it ended with a cliffhanger!...Until I realized the next one is on sale today. Phew!
