About the author
Christopher Madsen has lived in Santa Barbara since 1967. Over the past 40 years he has logged hundreds of trips to the rugged Santa Barbara Channel Islands which lie twenty miles offshore. It was this love of the sea that put him in the same orbit as the 1916 Herreshoff designed sloop Rowdy when she became available for purchase in 1998. What followed was a six year renovation of Rowdy, the birth of Christopher's twin daughters and subsequent sale of the boat, followed by another 10 years of research and writing in order to produce the multi-award winning book Rowdy. Christopher currently enjoys promoting his book, investing and spending time with his daughters.
