About the author

Emily Colin wrote her first romance novel in the fourth grade and never looked back. Today. she is the New York Times bestselling author of adult and young adult fiction featuring love stories with a supernatural edge. She writes dystopian romance, romantic fantasy, paranormal romance, and romantic book club fiction. Basically, if it’s got a love story, she’s into it!


For young adults, she is the author of the Moonbeam Award-winning romantic dystopian-fantasy series, The Seven Sins. Sword of the Seven Sins, the first book, was a Foreword INDIES Award finalist, won the YA fiction award of the North Carolina Indie Author Project, and was shortlisted for the 2021 Manly Wade Wellman Award for North Carolina Science Fiction and Fantasy. The second novel, Siege of the Seven Sins, was a 2021 silver IPPY Award winner and Foreword INDIES finalist. Emily co-edited and contributed to the young adult anthologies Wicked South: Secrets and Lies and Unbound: Stories of Transformation, Love, and Monsters, which was a Suspense Magazine Best of” 2021 pick as well as a 2021 INDIES Award finalist.

In her non-writing life, Emily has over two decades’ experience in the fields of arts education and creative youth development. She's also organized a Coney Island tattoo and piercing show, hauled fish at a dolphin research center, and roamed New York City (and Italy!) as a teenage violinist. Originally from Brooklyn, she writes, teaches, edits, and indulges her mocha addiction by the sea in North Carolina.
