I have been looking for many years for more definitive information about the Joseph Hatch family that moved from Falmouth, MA to Tolland, CT. Today, I found a gold mine in this Early History of Tolland, digitized by Google. The author, Loren P. Waldo, was the President of the Tolland Historical Society in 1861 when he presented this address to the Society. He included enough facts and details for me to be sure that this was the correct branch of my Hatch family ancestors. Mr. Waldo also added some pertinent facts about Joseph Hatch, the settler, who was prominent in running the town and taking care of governmental duties I presume that Mr. Waldo used the same care and accuracy in recording the lives of other settlers in the region. I highly recommend this book as a secondary source for genealogists. I also wish to thank the people from Google who found this book at Harvard College, copied it, and offered it freely to the researchers. Ethel Stanton, Jacksonville Beach, Florida
