About this ebook

The Miss Dumpy parade is back in all its glory on Secret Seal Isle, and with Rain in charge, the residents are getting more than they bargained for. When the festivities are temporarily delayed, Cookie discovers Rain’s not the only one with junk in her trunk. A dead body is found in the classic automobile Rain commandeered for the inn’s float. And when the corpse is identified as a man with ties to the DeMasi mob, it appears Cookie’s past may have finally caught up with her.

But Cookie’s not the only one who is threatened by the murder investigation. The new deputy-sheriff, June Loon, arrests Rain and her friends for the crime. It’s clear Secret Seal Isle is no longer a safe place for Cookie, but leaving the sleepy island town could also mean losing Dylan, the man she loves. With a mother in chains, a killer on the loose, and her heart on the line, Cookie must solve the case to save it all.

Wonderfully transcribed whodunit in the action, dialog and plot in this entertaining mystery. A parade, "amusing older hipsters," romance and murder! Cookie and Rain may have to leave their island. Gotta gotta love the humor and characters! 3 1/2 stars. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.

Cookie and Crazy Crew (aka her mother, Winter and their boyfriends) are back! The Inn have a float in a revamped parade and wouldn't you know it, they find a body in the boot! Deputy June is as inept as ever and its left to Cookie to ensure that Rain and the rest of the misfits don't end up behind bars! Cookie has extra added worry as the guy from the boot has ties to the very crime family she is hiding out from! Her fabulously laid back life on Secret Seal Isle and her new relationship with Dylan are now under threat! Great addition to the series! I can always rely on the Secret Seal Isle residents to cheer me up and have me laughing out loud! So glad that Dylan and Cookie are going from strength to strength and Hunter! Well I could slap him for his actions towards a certain friend of Cookie, not so chivalrous are you Agent Arrogant!

KNOCKING ON DEATH'S DOOR takes you back to Secret Seal Isle with its quaint beauty and another murder to be solved. I love how the author mixed sweet romance, suspense, action, fun, a bit of jealousy and loads of humor into the writing of this story. Once I started reading I was hooked until the fabulous conclusion. The ID on the departed victim threatens Cookie and her mom's ideal life on the Isle. Dylan the hot handyman ex Navy Seal now Cookie's boyfriend helps her investigate the murder. The two realize that time is pivotal to solve this shocking crime. FANTASTIC fast-paced read. The characters come alive with witty banter and wonderful vivid scene descriptions. I laughed, smiled and enjoyed the camaraderie between the characters. Cookie and Dylan prove their devotion to each other; a perfect match. If you enjoy mysteries with a whole lot of humor and characters you can relate to this is a terrific read. Finding this to be quite entertaining {of my own volition without any stipulations, I reviewed an advanced copy.} Without hesitation, I recommend this read.
