Very exciting story. As I eavesdrop on their thoughts and how each of the main characters think and look at life, it is so real I am almost afraid they will catch me listening. I like the mystery of their pasts and the unexpected powers that are beginning to manifest. In the second book I love how the story and tension builds. There are humorous interactions with a new character who has appeared and the story has changed and deepened. I like the innovative ideas of the magical powers that are beginning to blossom. In the third book I enjoyed seeing the four friends first coming into their powers and starting to experiment with using them. The relationships they have, although different than my experiences at that time in my life, remind me of what it was like for me and the relationships I had when I started college. Very enjoyable.

An overall fantastic and thrilling series I can't get enough of! What Doesn't Kill You - #1 OMG. THIS. BOOK. Now I admit I’ve gotten hooked on the latest trend of serials, but this book is the first I’ve read that completely and utterly had me from the first page. I could almost describe reading this book is like watching a television show. I love the characters. Each is well written as separate complex individuals. Then there’s the story. So full of twists and epic turns that I can’t explain it without giving spoilers away. The author did a great job setting up the story to want readers to return. If you have even the slightest inclination to read this book I beg you to try it! You will not be disappointed. While the story is geared towards young adults, I believe older audiences will enjoy this book as well. There’s mystery, suspense and lots of entertainment. There also some honest dealings with troubled teens who have secrets and feelings to work through. What Doesn’t Kill You is the first book in the Twisted series. Final Rating: 5 Stars Beware The Signs - #2 After the freaky events that happened in book one, now the girls are torn between believing and denying what their eyes saw. I love how each girl is wrapped up in their own world and I hope that they can soon come together as friends and work through their problems together. There is more in depth to some characters and of course the suspense holds up all the way to the end. I have come to enjoy the side snippet of the past that is touched on in each book. I really want to learn more about the past girls and how it relates to the future. Overall, I say this was a great sequel that I can’t wait to read book three! Beware the Signs is the second short serial in the Twisted series. Final Rating: 5 Stars See No Evil - #3 If this was a show I would be binge watching it. I feel like there is so much going on and the suspense buildup leaves me wanting way more than there is in one short book! This book flew by in the blink of an eye. There is more going on in each individual girl’s life and they are struggling with their powers still. As the story progresses more questions appear and with it more trouble. As always, book three was fast-paced, action filled and has a mild cliffhanger at the end. Come on book four! See No Evil is the third short serial in the Twisted series. Final Rating: 5 Stars I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Tense, intriguing and action packed. The story in the first three books of this series centres around four very different girls starting out at university. As well as dealing with the new challenges this brings each of them also has her own person issues that she is working to overcome. To further complicate their lives when the four come together for the first time their lives will be changed forever as they are thrown into a new world filled with magic and danger. The tension and action in the books is contrasted with emotional moments and humour. The description says that these books are meant to read like a TV show and every individual book does fell like a separate episode. As such the individual books are not too long but in this bundle you get the first three together and you will want to binge read! Fans of TV shows like Buffy, Charmed and Vampire Diaries should love these books.

About the author

A proud geek and video gamer, and champion of complex female protagonists, Jo brings her page-turning screenwriting style to books to weave well-crafted, suspenseful stories with twists you don't see coming. 

A self-taught screenwriter, Jo’s writing life began when she created the ground-breaking, critically acclaimed CBBC action fantasy television series, "Spirit Warriors," which introduced leading actress, Jessica Henwick ("Game of Thrones," "Star Wars: The Force Awakes") to the screen. Granted the biggest budget ever given to a CBBC show at the time, it was nominated for "Best Children’s Programme" at the 2011 Broadcast Awards, with Jo herself, going on to win the Women in Film & Television’s "New Talent" Award in 2010. Jo even made history for being the first East Asian person - man or woman - to have created a British television drama series.

Since then, Jo has worked with some of the most acclaimed producers in the world with several television shows and movies currently in development. 

Her debut novel WANTED, Book 1 of the Chase Ryder series won the YA Sci-Fi category for the 2018 Readers' Favorite Book Awards. It is her dream now to bring her book series to screen and she believes she can make it happen with her readers' help!
