This abridged history of the United States, from the Pre-Columbian times to 2008 is most certainly a landmark book on the subject. Being so extensive, yet abridged, I felt like it was blazing through many, many events whose importance is given only in mention, which is to be expected. And for anyone looking to know what happened, and where, is certainly an invaluable read. Some of the finer details are either oversimplified or outright omitted, and they greatly detract from the global view, however.
