About the author

G. Edward Evans is an administrator, researcher, teacher, and writer. He holds several graduate degrees in anthropology and library and information science. As a researcher, he has published in both fields and held a Fulbright and National Science Foundation Fellowship.

Margaret Zarnosky Saponaro, MLS, is head of collection development, University of Maryland Libraries. She holds an MLS from the University of California, Los Angeles, with post-graduate work in the areas of personnel programs and public administration.
