Gave it a good shot but after 100 pages in I'm giving up. It's just not resonating for me. So many new characters are introduced (and new ones continually arriving) that I can't keep up figuring out who is doing what. Hats off to the author who can spin a tale of this complexity, however for me, making sense of it all is too much work. That's OK ... I don't expect to resonate with every book I pick up.

Great book with lots of sub-plots, that are interesting in themselves & all come together. Worth reading, not as hard as some of James Mischner' (spelling wrong), but just as good. Prior to reading I found many negative reviews & feel like they didn't give the book or author a chance.

180 pages in and for the first time in living memory I'm throwing in the towel..haven't got a clue what's going on, which is mostly nothing and the bloody thing is 500 pages long..suggest editor cuts every other word, and then maybe the plot will make more sense and it will take half as long to get there...
