Ratings and reviews

Let me be clear, considering what the book brings to the table it deserves five stars. Colfer's characters are more than just memorable, some are timeless. His world is seemless, brought to life by descriptive and efficient narrative and imaginative comparisons. As far as the plot, I would say that it does a good job of completing a huge series, and the Last Guardian successfully avoids feeling like a rehash of the previous novels. I gave it a four because of Colfer's eco-agenda. Minimal, but annoying.

I'm just reviewing the book. Have never bought this from playstore. I read this on my kindle and cried so much I swear. It had an amazing storyline with twists I didn't expect at all. Gut wrenching ending. I laughed at a few scenes and had to stop reading to comprehend (and laugh at) some scenes in this (like when Artemis was getting out of the lake). I enjoyed this book and I reccomend it (as long as you've read the other seven books otherwise you'd be confused on what happened). I think everyone should read Artemis Fowl because it is extremely underrated and barely anybody knows what it is. If you read the series and you like it, please reccomend it to your friends.

I love the book. The setting, drama, and the characters are there. The story felt extremely conflicted,and not in good way. The story is perfect, but its not a good end to a series. I felt confused about the end. it felt more like a cliffhanger than an actual ending. There seamed to be a lot of loose ends. Not by far a good finish.

About the author

Eoin Colfer was born in Wexford, Ireland on May 14, 1965. After taking a three-year degree course in Dublin, he qualified as a primary teacher in 1986. Returning to Wexford he began teaching in a local primary school by day and wrote at night. In 1991, he left Ireland and spent the next four years working in Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Italy. Resettling in Wexford after his arrival back in Ireland, he recommenced his teaching career, continuing his habit of writing after school. His first book, Benny and Omar, was published in October 1998. His other works include Benny and Babe, the O'Brien Flyers series, and the Artemis Fowl series. He became a full-time author following the success of Artemis Fowl. The Wish List won a Bisto Merit Award in 2001. In 2015 he won an Irish Book Award in the children's category with his title Imaginary Fred.
