Enchanting Story I'll admit to having a soft spot for both time-travel and holiday romance, and this one is both! The first scene takes us back to the past where we see young industrialist Charles Whitley touch a clock... and something mysterious happens! We flash forward to the present. This young man disappeared in 1902, and currently, his house is open for public tours. The heroine is a newly minted Ph.D. historian who gives tours acting as the man's housekeeper while trying to decide how to move forward professionally. Imagine her surprise one day when she sees a man who is not the regular impersonator of Charles Whitley in the study, and he gives the tour group quite a show, demanding answers about why they are in his home! It takes a while for Megan and Charles all to figure out what's happened, but then Megan becomes his tour guide to the 21st century. The author did a good job showing Whitley as gentlemanly and more formal than a man of our time would be. I thought Charles, as a man who was interested in the technology of his day, showed the appropriate wonder and curiosity such a man would have had when shown 21st-century tech. He certainly had a personal growth arc, too, as he was very closed off back in his time, focusing on his business and science. Megan gently showed him a new way. But would his jealousy toward his old rival—who not only married his fiance but moved into the house Whitley had built for them—keep him from happiness in the present? Which is stronger, love or hate? You'll have to read or listen to the book to find out! I received the audiobook for free and later bought the ebook, but that did not affect my review.

This book was absolutely adorable! Megan is a history fanatic who works at a living history museum in the house of an inventor from the early 1900s. Charles is an inventor from the early 1900s who travels to the present day and meets Megan. While Megan introduces Charles to the 21st century, and Charles is trying to find a way back to his own time, they are getting to know each other. When Charles finally figures out how to get back, does he really want to go? Or does he want to stay in this new time with the new relationships he's found? This was definitely a cute little holiday romance. I enjoyed listening to this book quite a bit. I enjoyed the characters and the story. It was entertaining and fun. The time travel aspect was interesting and well done. I feel like everything did happen quickly in this book, though. I wanted just a bit more out of it to make it really believable. It seemed like everything happened too quickly, even for me. The audio was really good.
