Great introductory experience into learning about Chinese legalism, whether you are deeply acquainted with the field of philosophy or not. Historical context of the political and social problems that Legalist thinkers aimed to resolve as well as the influence of their ideas and implementations long after their ancient time are expounded upon to re-contextualize anyone's knowledge of Chinese history if they overlooked the impact of Legalism or never read Legalist texts.
