About the author
The story of Topsey parallels some events in the author's life. Nancy was an elementary school music teacher in her early career, so in this book we have the Rockin Turtles Band. She became an artist only two years before becoming blind, so in this book Topsey is blind when he learns to paint. Nancy only became an author after losing her sight. As a blind person, she now depends on friends and family for lots of help. You will find other handicap creatures in the book besides Topsey, hopefully this will give inspiration to anyone who struggles with disabilities.
