Ratings and reviews

This is the typical fated mate story but I must say some of the sex scenes were pretty over the top. It's very hard to accept some of the consequences alleged from the simple act of sexual congress. Granted good sex is a marvel, a gift from the gods, and to be given it along with a loving commitment makes it extraordinary. But to assert some sort of magical power results from sex between a fated ma and a purebred one is outside my willing suspension of disbelief. Aside from the hyperbole, the characters are sympathetic, the writing style is clean and the plot moves at a comfortable pace. The authors are to be commended for their integration of style. I would never have suspected dual authorship. Paranormal romance fans will probably eat this up but even those who just enjoy a good love story will find it worthwhile.

I don't read shifter romances often but every now and then, there is one that catches my attention. Well, this first book by Diana Seere was one of those, I was quite excited when I got my hands on it. The truth is, expected it to be funnier but in any case it didn't disappoint. It was interesting, definitely hot and a fast read. I quite liked the characters and I was rooting for them the whole time :) Gavin and Lilah are quite an interesting couple. coming from two completely different worlds, it is difficult to fathom that they can have anything in common, that their attraction and feelings are something more than a passing fancy. In truth, no one really believes it, even they themselves. But with every second spent together, things change. And where once there was only attraction, in matter of simple weeks and months, it grows to love. A love that spreads like wild fire. I have to say that I really love Gavin. He is definitely Alpha and dominant, even if he is not the oldest brother in the family. He is incredibly HOT, smart, ambitious and he built and empire of his own, which is definitely something to be admired. And when you look into those baby blues I can only imagine how easy it is to lose your train of thought. I mean, especially the way I envisioned him during the whole book (check out the picture on the right), he is definitely someone I would love to spend some time naked, wherever he decides it's best - in the forest, his limo, the club, the wine cellar. He just needs to give me that smile and look at me with those enchanting eyes, and I am all his :D The only thing that I didn't specifically like in the book, was towards the end. I was left somewhat confused by it and not very clear on what exactly happened. I hope it will be cleared in one of the next books. In any case I can't wait to pick up the next one in the series. For Mature Readers. This book had me hooked from start to finish and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series. It starts with Lilah rescuing a stray dog from under a limousine in a not so nice neighborhood that she and her sister live in. While trying to rescue the dog, Lilah's scar above her eye starts hurting; she hears a voice in her head and she is drawn to the back window of the limo like a magnet. All she glimpses is a pair of blue eyes and she hears "mine" and feels the "Beat". Gavin is the man in the back of the limo and he too feels the "Beat" and causes him to start shifting into his wolf form. All he remembers later is that he saw "the One", that she is "his" and that they shared the "Beat". Gavin's brothers don't believe in any of it and tell Gavin that she should stay away from Lilah and that he shouldn't believe in old stories. Lilah starts working at the Platinum Club as a waitress. It is an extremely exclusive club in which Gavin is a member. Her first night of work; she and Gavin meet in the elevator and they cannot keep their hands off each other and then later in the night they have an encounter in the wine cellar. According to Gavin's older brother, that is all that their relationship can be that there is no way that Lilah can be Gavin's mate. Gavin struggles to figure out how to tell Lilah about his being a werewolf. Lilah struggles with her crazy attraction to someone she barely knows. Then you add in Gavin's other family, Lilah's family, a drunk patron, a fight and a very old book and a couple of other surprises and you will see why you cannot stop reading until the end.
