The author has given us a quick read that is not your usual shifter romance. Emmett, human, works at a shifter bar and hears things from the shifters, especially about the mating bond. While sitting in the park, he is attacked by a manticore and informed that he is her mate. Will the shifter council allow them to be together or will he be executed for daring to love a shifter? This is a fun series of shifters breaking all the rules to find their true mate. Standalone with no cliffhangers. Emmet is a human male working in a shifter bar that has shifter date nights to find your true mate. Will he ever find love or be stuck watching everyone around him finding love. Then she fell right out of the sky. Ripley is engaged, the last single female of her kind, and her parents have made her life hell. No problem! Will he live long enough to complete the mateing? This was another great addition to the Shifter Speed Dating series. I have been thoroughly entertained by the books in this series and this one was no exception. Once again the character work was fantastic and the story line was good and this combination made for a quick, fun read.
