About this ebook

The second edition of this book is virtually a new book. It is the only comprehensive text on the safety of essential oils and the first review of essential oil/drug interactions and provides detailed essential oil constituent data not found in any other text. Much of the existing text has been re-written, and 80% of the text is completely new. There are 400 comprehensive essential oil profiles and almost 4000 references. There are new chapters on the respiratory system, the cardivascular system, the urinary system, the digestive system and the nervous system.

For each essential oil there is a full breakdown of constituents, and a clear categorization of hazards and risks, with recommended maximum doses and concentrations. There are also 206 Constituent Profiles.

There is considerable discussion of carcinogens, the human relevance of some of the animal data, the validity of treating an essential oil as if it was a single chemical, and the arbitary nature of uncertainty factors. There is a critque of current regulations.

Digital Rights Management BS. The Google play reader is a POS viewing near next to 5 sentences at a time if you include the diagrams. You can navigate to different sections of the book, through contents. If you want to view the document as a PDF you have to download Adobe Digital Editions(ADE). Once ADE downloads the pdf file, you have to manually navigate to the page by actually looking at the contents and manually seeking to the page you need. The Digital Rights Manager(DRM) has decided that it is not important for the end user to be able to print, resize nor search the contents of the documents. About the only thing you can do in ADE is bookmark and select 1 of 3 possible viewing sizes. so its gonna take a long time for me to read it, such that i can actually tell you about the content. To the DRM manager ... Loosen the @#$%ing noose on the ADE or someone else will. Get real, this book has 795 pages, you can't expect me to "flick" through each page electronically, as it is a reference manual("guide") not a novel. Personally I'll try to ask google for my money back and buy the hardcover. There will be less time wasted by waiting for the hard copy book to arrive than messing the with useless electronic formats provided. Thanks.
